The facts about CBD
If you are new to the world of CBD supplements then you probably have a multitude of questions regarding the facts about CBD. Unfortunately, as the popularity of CBD increases, so does the amount of misinformation. In the following article we give you the facts about CBD, and straightforward answers to 12 of the most frequently asked questions about this natural and beneficial substance.
What is CBD?
CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, one of the many cannabinoids, or chemical compounds, found in cannabis and hemp. While beneficial for wellbeing, CBD doesn’t have the psychoactive properties of it’s more famous cousin THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). Even at high doses CBD will not get you high and it’s safe for all the family to use on a regular basis.

Is CBD oil legal and safe?
Yes! CBD is sold as a food supplement in the UK, just like vitamins are. CBD oil is 100% legal as long as the THC levels are below 0.2%. Hemp is a plant that is safe, natural, and non-toxic. CBD is safe for all the family to take on a daily basis. According to a report published by the World Health Organisation (WHO) “naturally occurring CBD is safe and well tolerated in humans (and animals), and is not associated with any negative public health effects”
How can I consume CBD?
CBD comes in many forms including; CBD oil and paste (oral use), CBD vape liquids, capsules, CBD edibles, tea and topical balms or creams. Which method of consumption you choose is largely down to personal preference but the bioavailability (absorption rate) varies with each method.
At Feel Supreme we offer a selection of CBD products to meet all your requirements.
Is CBD addictive?
CBD is NOT addictive as it contains none, or very little THC. THC is the ingredient that causes cannabis to be addictive in some people.
A report last year by the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that CBD is non-addictive, stating; “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential” and that “CBD is well-tolerated and safe for human consumption.”
Will CBD help with my illness?
Unfortunately, we cannot give out advice on using CBD oil for anything medical related. We sell our CBD products as food supplements to help support and maintain a healthy body and mind. Having said that, maintaining a healthy lifestyle while incorporating CBD into your routine is the best thing you can do to protect yourself from all forms of illness.
There are thousands of studies available which highlight how great CBD is in supporting and maintaining health. So please carry out your own thorough research to see if CBD is the right choice for you.
With that said, you do not have to be ‘ill’ to use CBD. Everyone can benefit from CBD, no matter how healthy you may be. CBD oil provides a source of essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals, healthy fatty acids like Omega-3 and protein.
Can I take CBD oil with other medication?
With regards to possible interactions with other medication, please consult your GP or pharmacist. CBD oil may affect the way your body metabolises certain medication, meaning it can delay or even inhibit the effects of the medication you take. This does not apply to all medication and may only apply when consuming high doses of CBD.
Leaving a 2 hour gap between CBD and your prescription medication is often recommended.
Will I get high if I take CBD?
Definitely not! THC is the substance in cannabis that causes users to feel a high, an effect which a lot of people want to avoid. Legal CBD oils only contain safe trace amounts of the psychoactive cannabinoid THC. CBD is simply a non-intoxicating component of hemp which has enormous potential.
The levels of THC in our CBD products are so low you will not notice any effects. We also provide lab reports for our CBD products so you can be sure of the safety and potency.
Will I fail a drugs test?
If you buy your CBD oil from a reputable company, which sells legal CBD products, then you are very unlikely to fail a drugs test. But, it is possible. Just the same as it’s possible to test positive while taking some prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
Our advice is; If you regularly have to undergo drug tests for work, speak to your employer before starting CBD. CBD is legal and safe, if you buy from a reputable supplier like Feel Supreme. Print off a copy of the lab report for the CBD product you are taking. The same advice applies to roadside drug tests.
It is also worth noting that The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) recently removed CBD from it’s list of banned substances for professional athletes.
Does CBD oil have any side effects?
While CBD oil is 100% safe to use you may experience some mild side effects, especially at high doses. These potential side effects include: dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, reduced blood pressure and delay of certain medications’ effects. These side effects are not experienced by everyone and can be easily overcome by drinking plenty of water and leaving at least a 2 hour gap between CBD and your current medication.
How much should I take?
There is no set recommended dose for CBD oil as everyone reacts differently to this natural product. An optimal CBD dose may depend on certain factors including; your weight, age, general health and tolerance to CBD. However, a dose of 10-20mg is quite common. Try starting with 1 drop, 3 times a day and gradually increase until you reach the desired effect. Please do not exceed the 200mg food supplement daily limit.
How do I take CBD oil?
Although CBD comes in many forms, CBD oil remains the most popular way to consume it. CBD oil is simple to take. Just place the desired amount under your tongue and hold there for 2-3 minutes before swallowing. Absorption under the tongue (sublingually) is more effective than other methods as it allows the CBD to get directly into the bloodstream through the capillaries, and avoids the digestive symptom.
